Quick CharterGate answers

A static guide to the public website and product story.

This is not Gate Keeper. Gate Keeper is the helper character inside the CharterGate application. This page cannot evaluate a proposal, determine authorization, or change any governance result.
What is CharterGate?

CharterGate is a goal-first, read-only governance application. You start with what you are trying to accomplish, select an explicit trusted source, define the limits, and receive a governance result with sources and evidence before any separate execution.

Does CharterGate take action?

No. CharterGate returns governance evidence. It does not infer owner approval, send, publish, deploy, pay, or otherwise execute the request. A separate authorized system with its own credentials may act later.

What are Simple, Business, and Advanced modes?

They change how the workflow is presented—from goal-first plain language to deeper operational detail. They do not change the trusted source, authority boundary, or meaning of the governance result.

What is Gate Keeper?

Gate Keeper is a presentation and help layer inside the product. It can explain fields, conditions, and evidence, but it cannot create authorization, reinterpret authority, or override a disposition.

What is a trusted source?

A trusted source is a specific registered authority that actually applies to the request, such as an owner instruction, policy, agreement, rule set, or other verified record. It is not a generic website or an AI guess.

What happens when required information is unclear?

CharterGate is designed to fail closed rather than invent missing permission. The unresolved source, scope, identity, condition, or other material requirement remains visible.

Can CharterGate govern an AI agent?

Yes, by evaluating the exact action proposed by the agent before a separate executor acts. CharterGate does not grant the agent new authority and does not execute the action itself.
